Life on St. John can be pretty damn good!

Yesterday Habiba, Jacob, Rajni and I had the pleasure of spending the day with Simina’s friends from Romania, the gold medal-winning Romanian Gymnasts, Catalina Ponor and Silvia Stoescu.

Catalina and Silvia were in the Virgin Islands to visit Simina and to do a demonstration of their art at the Antilles School in St. Thomas.

Catalina was a triple gold medalist in both the 2004 European Gymnastics Championships and the 2004 Summer Olympics and Silvia won a gold medal at the 2004 Olympics

Today Catalina is doing endorsements in Romania and Sylvia is studying for her PHD in physical education.

I picked up Simina, her son Kai and the two Romanian gymnasts at Sapphire Bay Marina and we headed out for Gibney Beach on St. John.

We came ashore on the west end of Gibney Beach and I was able to take some great photos of the two beautiful gymnasts.
