Fallen flowers of the Poui tree at St. John's Caneel Bay Resort
The wood of the Poui tree (Tabebuia chrysantha) is strong and durable and is resistant to dampness, decay, fire and termites. Consequently it has been used for docks, piers, outdoor furniture, park benches and boardwalks including the boardwalk in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Huh? I’m used to great photos from you Gerry! That’s a miserable image of a Poui tree. I mean it’s nice as another view, but… I have one of a tree in full bloom… I could share that with you if you’d like, but how?
It wasn’t the tree I was interested in it was the carpet of flowers. Nonetheless, I’d love to use your image or link to it if it’s on the web somewhere. So send the image or the link and I’ll post it.
