St. John USVI: Gym in Paradise Update

Two fairly reliable sources tell me that the gym will reopen in the next week or so. I have been hearing this since the place closed, and have been skeptical up until now. Of course “it isn’t over until the fat lady sings,” but I’m told that the original lease holders will open the gym shortly if no new buyer is found.
Meanwhile I still think that the way it was done really stinks; taking money for a low priced “special” and then closing up shortly after. Where did the money go?
However, if the gym reopens and all previous memberships are honored then what looked like a rip off before, becomes a mere inconvenience.
We’ll see…

I hope so Gerald. I miss that little place. As one friend and member described it on facebook “The Ghetto Gym”. Mark unfortunately has the out of site out of mind attitude. I fully understand it was losing money but closing without fair warning was unfair to all. As I said before it is hard to run a business here when you are living in the states. The way it all went down was wrong, just plain wrong. We as members and supporters of the gym deserve better and Mark owes us all big time whether the place reopens or not. Hope to see you in da’ ghetto soon!
