St. John Virgin Islands: Flavors 2010
The atmosphere at Westin was festive and uplifting. Nicely dressed St. Johnians and visitors from off island enjoyed pleasant evening filled with great fun and scrumptious food and wines.

The aroma of food surrounded you from the very first steps of the ballrooms. Upon arrival, you were presented with an empty plate and glass, which you would want to fill up right away. Strategically positioned wine stations were providing perfect pairings for delicious foods from St. John restaurants.

Highlights of the evening were miniature plates of surf ‘n’ turf by Asolare, pan seared sea scallops over risotto by the Westin, grilled shrimp by Banana Deck, Ossobuco ravioli by DiLivio and pulled pork sandwiches by Tap Room.

The best mixed drinks were made by Happy Fish, Castaways, Asolare and Westin.

Westin’s desserts were out of this world!

In addition to great foods and wines, “Flavors 2010″ guests enjoyed the silent auction with great donations from the island’s artists and businesses as well as music and disco dancing.

Everyone had a wonderful time, thanks to the Rotary Club that put together the event, the proceeds of which will go to the Rotary’s college scholarship program.

Hi Yelena, Happy New Year! St. John looks beautiful. Hope you’re well and enjoying life. We were at Market Basket today, and remembered when we met you there. (Dark chocolate is still icky.)
    Hugs from Laura (and John)
