It’s a beautiful St. John morning and I decide to go out and take a little jog, clear my head, breathe some good air, take in the view.
I’m running the flat stretch on Great Cruz Bay Road, when I see a jeep pulled over on the side with a lady feeding a little dog. The lady turns out to be Patty from Cruz Bay Water Sports and she looks at me and says, “only on St. John.”
I look closer at the dog. It’s really is a strange looking dog. It has this weird head. I look again and then I get it. I see what Patty means. It’s not a dog. It’s a pig, a little baby pig!
The pig’s off the side of the road happily eating something that Patty has given it. Its wearing a scarf and has a blue collar for a leash. This little piggy obviously belongs to somebody, but what can you do?
Patty drives off and I continue my run. I get about 100 yards down the road when a lady in a jeep stops and asks if I’ve seen a pig.
I nod yes and point down the street.
Patty’s right, “only on St. John!”
